Balloted if there are more applicants than places

How balloting & distance priority work

If Phase 2B is oversubscribed, places are allocated in this order of priority:

  1. 1.Singapore Citizens living within 1km of the school
  2. 2.Singapore Citizens living between 1km and 2km
  3. 3.Singapore Citizens living beyond 2km
  4. 4.Permanent Residents within 1km, then 1–2km, then beyond 2km

A ballot is only held within the band where places run out. Distance is measured in a straight line from your registered home address to the school.

Phase 2B FAQs

How many places are reserved for Phase 2B?

At least 20 places are set aside for Phase 2B (shared with the buffer for Phase 2C). Volunteering 40 hours does not guarantee a place if the phase is balloted.

When should I start volunteering for Phase 2B?

Volunteer hours must be completed before 1 July of the year before your child registers, so most parents start at least a year in advance.
